Purpose

After a great deal of prayer and fasting, listening and waiting on God, we changed our Sunday timetable to the new format of a 10am service with children’s church and creche, which is repeated at 6pm.

This was to allow everyone to hear the same message, give people space to involve themselves in new projects, or even spend time with their families, building Christ-centred relationships with one another.

We believe that God has spoken to us about our direction and focus as a church community, and we want to obey that call. Over the coming months we will be launching a variety of projects, such as the Foodbank, and Darlaston initiatives, but our intention is not to fill the space with activities that people feel they have to be involved in; our intention is to encourage and inspire us all to be involved or begin to do whatever it is that God has placed on our hearts.

Some recent examples of this at work have been the activities that some young people have been involved in over the summer, offering gardening to people on the Alumwell estate. They have some great stories to tell, and we will continue to let you know about these over the coming weeks.

Jean Lavender has had a passion for the folk in old people’s residential homes, and so she started a project that seeks to visit these people and take ‘church’ to them. These are people who will never be able to come through the doors of Junction 10.

There are many more examples of how people like you at Junction 10 are affecting the lives of many of those around them.

So this year, take time to fill the ‘space’ with your eyes and ears on Jesus Christ, seeking Him out and following Him.

We want to hear the stories that will inspire us all, so keep telling us what’s happening to you and how God is making Himself known through you.

Feast on the teaching at Junction 10 on Sundays and in the mid-week programme, and be an active partner at Junction 10 that seeks to be part of what God is doing in the Black Country and beyond.
