UPDATED 18th March 2020

This plan is in response to the current and ongoing concerns about the COVID-19 virus (Coronavirus), we want you to know that our Church Leaders at The Church at Junction 10 are taking every precaution to keep our church family safe and healthy. The well-being of our congregation is extremely important to us.

In addition to fervent, believing prayer, we are following the advice of our denomination, Assemblies of God Great Britain, and Public Health England guidelines. We are also in conversation with our host venues.

Following an emergency Trustees Meeting on Monday 16th March 2020, and the Prime Ministers announcement the same day, it was decided to suspend Sunday gatherings at Grace Academy for the next 2 weeks. We hope to return on Sunday 5th April 2020, but that is dependent on the advice given at that time. If we do not return on that date the situation will be reviewed on a weekly basis thereafter. The Friday Youth Gathering is also cancelled, as is the Monday Night Prayer Meeting, and Journey Groups.

Our Response

1. Pray.

Prayer is our first and best course of action in any situation. Here are a few things we will be praying for and would encourage you to also pray:

  • That the virus would stop its spread.
  • The speedy recovery of all who have been affected by COVID-19
  • For protection upon our community and families, especially the vulnerable
  • For the many healthcare workers who faithfully serve in numerous patient care settings
  • For our national leaders as they lead us through this health, social and economic crisis
  • Wisdom as we seek God for how best the Church can serve at this time
  • That fear and panic would not get hold of people and that they would learn to trust God through it all.

2. Suspend all gatherings.

As stated above all J10 related gatherings have been suspended. We will review this after Sunday 29th March.

3. Close the Church Office.

Following the government advice, J10 staff are working from home, and are being asked to maintain contact with the Church congregation.

4. Encourage online giving.

As we are not meeting at Grace Academy, we are unable to take the weekly offering which is a significant income stream. We have reserves and thankfully finances are not a significant concern at this stage. However, we don’t give because it’s convenient, we give because we believe we should, and it is a blessing. It is understood some people are or may experience financial challenges during this situation and their ability to give may change. Please be wise, but if you are able to give and don’t currently do so via internet banking, please consider setting this up.

5. Keep people updated.

We will do our best to keep people informed of any action we are taking during our regular services, via our social media outlets and iKnow, (email thechurch@junction10.com if you wish to sign up to iKnow to receive emails). Check the J10 Facebook Page for updates, https://www.facebook.com/junction10church/ and please continue to access the podcasts on iTunes (Search - The Church at Junction 10 Podcasts). We will continue to explore options for broadcasting services while gatherings are cancelled, and for those unable to attend beyond that.

As the situation develops. we will review this plan with department leaders in line with official advice, and act accordingly.

Please help us by keeping us updated on your circumstances and consider how you could help to keep in touch with anyone who may be isolated. Don’t give in to fear, but instead continue to keep showing love in practical ways to those who need it most. J10 trusts in the miraculous healing and protective power of the Lord Jesus Christ. As He alone is our Keeper, we will continue to wholly put our trust and faith in Him.

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living” – (Psalm 27:13).
